Improve Market Functionality to Enhance Player Experience
Current market is very toxic with its implementation leading to large spreads in prices and very poor player experience.
1) Change it so you can only do 20 market adjustments per day. So you can list 20 items for sale, put in 20 buy orders, adjust 20 current market orders, or any mix of this 3 but capped at 20 per 24h. Instant orders of course remain uncapped.
2) Getting overcut/undercut by a 0.1% price change the moment you make an order is very annoying, change it so that if you're the highest buy order then if someone wants to bid more they must bid a minimum of 5% more than you. So if you put in a buy order for 1 steedgrass at 100 gold, then someone else can either place an order for 100 and under, or 105 and over. Same for sell orders but in the reverse of course
edit: just realized how someone will "exploit" this, they'll make an order to buy 1 steedgrass at 105 then 100 steedgrass at 100.1 then cancel the 105 order. to prevent this, all orders need to be a minimum 5% differential from all other orders on the market, or the exact same price in which the original order has priority(see below). Right clicking an order in the "market" tab should give you the option to "Outbid"(for buys) or "Undercut"(for sells) which will bring up an order creation prompt with the correct price filled in. So they click outbid on the 100/per order and a prompt to place an order prefilled at 105 will popup. Attempt to place an order at 99.9 or 100.1 will be met with "Please place order at the same price as an existing order, or 5% difference from all existing orders" popup.
We want people to to be matching the top price if they're patient, or outbidding if they want priority.
3) If someone matches your exact price whoever created the order first should get priority on the list. So if i put a listing to buy steedgrass at 100 then someone else places an order to buy steedgrass for 100, my order is still at the top of the list and has priority for instant sells. Same applies if they adjusted an old order to my matched price, I should still have priority. The sequence of priority should follow the order creation/adjustment to that price. 2nd person to create an order or adjust to price at 100 should get priority once the first fills, etc.
4) On the "management" tab there should be a 3rd option when you right click the listings to "View market details". Clicking that button should bring you back to the market tab for the respective item. Also currently when you click that button from an item in your inventory the game doesnt automatically switch to the market tab, it should.
Also on this tab, your orders should be listed in alphabetical order. Currently seems to be random.
5) On the "market" tab all listings that are yours should be highlighted to make it easy to find and adjust. Right clicking on your listing should give you the ability to update it without changing tab.
6) On the "receiving" tab when an item is successfully bought/sold there should be some indicator of how much the actual listing was for(price per item). Its helpful to know what orders have been filled when its possibly been weeks since you put in the order and might not remember the price
Talked to a new player that said theres nothing in the game he hates more than trying to use the market, just instantly getting undercut/overcut by people that stare at the market all day is very frustrating. My changes will improve QoL and naturally lead to tighter price spreads which increases market efficiency
