Adjusting Magic Protections Skill Duration and Amount for Balanced Gameplay

(posting in the right place now i guess lol)
i think everyone know the details and how its a nonsensical skill.
(it gives u 9 points of magic protections for 50 secs and heals around 30 hp)
can we have a logical nerf around this?
suggestions?
mine:
3 magic protections for 25 secs (keep healing) or
6 magic protections for 15 secs (no healing)
both with half of current mana costs
