Implement bundled sell listings for grouped items in the marketplace
On the roadmap, it says:
> We aim to also allow players the ability to place buy and/or sell orders on the market for groups of items as well to allow for “gear bags” to be sold.
I want to suggest implementing the sell-side portion of that first: bundled market listings for grouped items.
Allow a player to create a single market listing containing multiple items and quantities, sold together as one package.
This would let players list complete kits or purpose-built bundles as a single purchasable entry instead of requiring multiple separate listings.
A bundled listing should:
- contain multiple item types and quantities
- display its full contents to the buyer before purchase
- be purchased only as a whole
- lock the included items into the listing until sold or canceled
- return all included items to the seller if the listing is canceled or expires
Examples of bundle types:
- starter bag
- melee bag
- mage bag
- archer bag
- mounted roaming bag
- harvesting bag
- siege support bag
Example contents of a single listing:
- 1 weapon
- 1 armor set
- 1 mount
- 1 stack of reagents or arrows
- 1 food stack
- optional utility items
This reduces one of the more tedious parts of market interaction: rebuilding a usable kit from many separate searches and purchases.
Current flow often looks like this:
- search each item separately
- compare multiple listings separately
- make multiple purchases
- move everything into a usable kit manually
Bundled listings would reduce that friction.
That has several benefits:
- faster regearing after PvP losses
- less time spent navigating the market for routine kits
- more useful market participation from crafters and merchants
- easier onboarding for newer players who may not know every item they need
- more room for specialization in the economy through premade kits
This is not only a UI/quality-of-life feature.
It adds a new market unit: the functional kit.
That gives sellers room to compete on:
- purpose
- completeness
- pricing
- consistency
- convenience
That seems healthy for a sandbox economy because it supports merchant specialization rather than only raw item-by-item trading.
I think this should be kept narrow for the first version.
- bundled sell listings only
- fixed package contents
- whole-package purchase only
- buyer can inspect contents
- seller can cancel listing and retrieve contents
- bundled buy orders
- editable listings after posting
- named/saved templates
- partial purchases
- automatic equipment slot validation
- class/build tagging systems
Bundled sell listings alone would already solve a real player problem and create immediate market value.
Bundled buy orders are more complex because they raise additional questions around fulfillment rules, substitutions, exact matching, and edge cases. Those can be handled later without blocking the more immediately useful feature.
Request: allow grouped-item market listings so players can sell “gear bags” as one package.
This would reduce market friction, speed up regearing, help newer players, and create a stronger role for merchants and crafters through ready-made functional kits.
Even a narrow v1 implementation would be worthwhile.
