This might be a stretch but as a roleplayer and a builder, I've been working on a large scale accessible city and it would be a help to add some features I had in mind.

I was thinking about making it where people could be assigned certain homes, rooms, apartments etc on your plot so they couldn't break into other people's houses/rooms

As an example how I'm building a city I have a hotel room that I could give to one person and maybe have a feature on the door saying that is that person's door and only me or the other person I gave perms to could open it.

I don't know how hard of coding that might be so nevermind but thought it was be helpful for people running their owns business city's, etc to change settings on any door or give a door to one person.

If the concept is if it's too confusing my bad ... Mostly it's that also while allowing a player to open or close a door you give them custody/perms of that door so nobody else bothers them! ( It's their door )
