Steps to Reproduce
- Place a center block around which you will pivot. In my case, this is a basic shape with a plank structural attached.
- Place another block on the plank/center block and transform it out. Build the wall on this, and make sure to add many curves and attached blocks/structurals. Everything builds on itself. In my case, there were so many extra blocks/structurals that I wasn't able to transform the entirety.
- Once the wall is done, copy the first/center block from step 1 and rotate it using the medium grid. Place it again in the same spot. This way, a 'perfect' circle is formed.
- Leave the game and rejoin.
- Many blocks are now misaligned.
Explanation
I recently made a dome-shaped build made from 16 rotated (but otherwise identical) pieces. They each pivot at the medium grid size angle around the center. I left the server I built that in. When I rejoined a different server, many pieces were (seemingly randomly) shifted and rotated. Interestingly, I think this only happened for pieces that weren't aligned with the grid, because those rotated at 0°, 90°, 180° and 270° look fine. I also made a floor using the previously mentioned pivot technique, which had less structurals/basic shapes, and this luckily stayed the same. This weird placement of blocks from all other pieces saved and persisted when I rejoined again. I posted some pictures of the build in the builds channel, which I have also provided here, so you can see the before and after. Thankfully, I hope I can still save the build because the pieces aligned with the grid seem to have survived, although deleting and replacing everything will cost a lot of money :/
