Option to Set Static Resolution for Improved Performance on Integrated Graphics
Open
I would like to request that the user may set the resolution the game runs.
The “Dynamic resolution” works very poorly on devices with integrated graphics. The experience is highly inconsistent and frame drops are low enough and long enough that the game becomes unplayable. I love Splitgate 2 so far on my PC with dedicated graphics (RX 6800), however I travel and would like to play Splitgate on my laptop, which other than graphics, is very good for my use. My specs for my ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 7 Jaguar are 20 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1280P with 31.0 GiB of RAM using integrated graphics @ 1080p (16:10). I am able to run Splitgate 1 @ 720p with a consistent 45 fps with a mix of high, medium, and low settings, and Deep Rock Galactic at a consistent 45 fps at native resolution. This is made possible by my ability to choose the specific static resolution the game runs at. I am running the lowest setting for Splitgate 2 with no post-render smoothing (TAA, FXAA is disabled) on my laptop and I cannot achieve any remotely consistent frame rate. I do not believe my laptop's hardware to be the problem, I believe the bouncing between resolutions of the ‘dynamic resolution’ is creating issues for my use, thus I would like to request that the user may set the static resolution for the game run, even if this option has to be under something like an ‘advanced settings’ menu
