Feature Request: Sniper Class and Dedicated Sniper Game Modes Hello, my name is Isaac, and I’ve been really enjoying Splitgate 2 so far. However, I wanted to submit a feature request that I believe would significantly improve gameplay diversity and player satisfaction. Feature Request: Introduce a dedicated Sniper weapon class and add sniper-focused game modes to the core multiplayer experience. Problem: Currently, the only consistent way to use a sniper rifle in Splitgate 2 is by either: • Picking it up as a power weapon on the map • Playing in a custom/creative server This severely limits access to sniper gameplay. Treating the sniper as a “power weapon” in the same tier as rocket launchers doesn’t feel balanced or reflective of how other games successfully implement snipers. ⸻ Why This Matters: • Limited Playstyle Diversity: Players who enjoy sniping as their primary playstyle can’t consistently engage in the game the way they want to. • Lack of Sniper Game Modes: There’s currently no sniper-exclusive mode where players can showcase skill and compete in a balanced sniper-only environment. • Missed Competitive Opportunity: Games like Call of Duty and Halo offer accessible sniper classes and dedicated modes, which have built strong, loyal communities around sniping. ⸻ Proposed Solution: • Sniper Class: Allow snipers to be a selectable primary weapon class, just like the assault rifle or carbine. • Sniper-Only Modes: Introduce modes like “Snipers Only” or “One Shot, One Kill” to foster skill-based sniper gameplay and satisfy that competitive itch for precision shooting. ⸻ Benefits: • Enhanced Player Freedom: Players can choose their preferred playstyle without being restricted to rare weapon spawns. • Increased Skill Expression: Sniping becomes a skill-based option, not a power-up. This encourages mastery, just like other primary weapons. • Community Growth: Players who love sniping will have a reason to keep playing and recommending the game, increasing long-term retention. ⸻ Supporting Example: • Call of Duty’s success with snipers as a regular class and their popular sniper-only lobbies (Quickscoping, One-Shot modes) have kept sniping communities active for years. • Halo also successfully balances sniper weapons while giving them more accessibility in playlists like SWAT and Snipers. ⸻ Thank you for your time and consideration!
