shorten or remove the 1.5 second invincibility period of portals after they are placed. the system makes sense in theory to prevent jarring scenarios of your portal getting overwritten immediately, but in practice it creates more harm than good by preventing you from overwriting others' portals when you need to to save your own life. if this mechanic stays, I would recommend at least shortening the extremely long 1.5 seconds.
