Reintroduce Earnable 'Drops' for Cosmetic Diversity in Battlepass

Bring back "Drops" for both the long- and short-term health of the player base (revised text):
Having skins from- and challenges for the battlepass specifically is cool, but when you can only get battlepass skins, or buy them from the shop, it really isn't. There's no cosmetic diversity, and you are forced to pay if you want that to be different.
Back in SG1 we could get "Drops" (Purely earnable lootboxes for those who may not have played) as rewards for daily, weekly, and seasonal challenges, as well as from certain levels in the battlepass, referral pass and as a weekly login bonus. Point being, they weren't exactly hard to come by.
This was sensational, as we could get cosmetics for free, and though they were often just commons or rares, I remember some amazing pulls that got me really hyped (ignoring the fact that even a common is better than a default).
Getting "Drops" was always a fun, and positive experience.
There are 28 different things (from guns to characters to portals) in the game that have unique cosmetics. In splitgate1 there were only 18.
There is no reason to not bring back Drops, especially when we have more unique cosmetic slots. It was an honest and fun mechanic that everyone benefited from, and I don’t think anyone is happy that they were removed, nor do I think anyone would complain about their reintroduction.
As a bonus point, this situation is almost identical if not identical to Overwatch:
They removed lootboxes, and only had a battlepass, as well as a similarly priced shop. The player base hated it!
They brought back lootboxes and made them PURELY earnable - and the player base absolutely loved it, and said it was an excellent decision!
