Alternative Mobility Equipment

I’ve suggested this on the discord feedback thread during the beta, but have started to expand the idea to fit having variations for different factions or just more variants in general

Dash pack
A short range dash pack with several charges allowing for fast movement horizontally

Meridian
Charge up dash, with different levels of power depending on the amount they have charged

Aeros
3-5 charges short range but extremely fast

3 charges extreme movement speed boost

Sabrask
Heavy dash pack
either less charges or slower charge refresh, but significantly stronger dash possibly including a damaging or knock-back effect like ramming into enemies or a heat blast where they dashed from

Unsorted
These are ones which I’m uncertain if it fits under any of the factions theming

Portal dash?
Short range dash via teleportation through portals would have to be maximum of 2-5 meters using a similar visual to the porta portal but only lasts for a split second

Jump Pack
Instant vertical boost/double jump using a charge system similar to the dash pack

Meridian
Similar to the dash pack for Meridian a charge up that increases the strength the more it’s charged

Aeros
Instantaneous boost on a multi charge system, 3-5 charges, smaller individual boost on each charge compared to other factions

Sabrask
Very large boost, damaging exhaust, slow refresh on the charges, 1-3 charges

Other mobility gear
Hover Pack
Rather than giving any boost prevents falling and allows for a fair bit of horizontal mobility, runs on a fuel/energy system like the regular jet pack, uses energy slower when not moving, I feel that this gear could be a collaboration between Meridian and Aeros

Grappling Hook
A grappling hook would be a fascinating piece of equipment if designed with realistic or even semi realistic swing physics but is probably out of context of the game

Launch Pad
A placeable Launch pad which could be used by team mates, good as a support item so it may fit meridians theming and playstyle

Other ideas for jet packs/ mobility gear
Modifications for the jetpack, similar to the perk system or the attachments/modifiers for weapons

For example, having the ability to slowly recharge energy for jet packs while falling, or increasing the amount/efficiency of fuel, or modifying the mobility to make it move faster horizontally, or launch faster into the air
