Like in other battler royales, in Splitgate 2’s battle royale I recommend that holding down the ping button let the user access a radial dial menu of callouts such as the following. I think that the callout should be spoken by an AI generated voice. Perhaps, later you could sell voice packages with different voice styles. I think these verbalized callouts would help with team cohesion in the battle royale mode, especially when teaming with random players. Some games let’s user adjust the volume of these callouts. There could also be contextual callouts like pinging an enemy portal could just automatically lead to all callout of "enemy portal." “Let’s go here.” “Let’s attack here.” “Let’s defend here.” “Don’t attack that.” “Take that portal.” “Enemy here.” “I’m looting.”

These are examples of contextual pings, which don’t require a radial dial menu selection. These are spoken by the character automatically whenever the user pings something on the map: “enemy portal”; “shield upgrade”; “air drop”; and “store”. It would also be helpful if the user could let his teammates know he wants to go to a different world via a contextual ping. For example, if the user opens the map and pings, with a single click, a different world the character might automatically say “going to Drought”, etc. If he instead holds down the ping button it would open a radial menu with other options.

Because there are 4 players on a team, it is important to be able to communicate well. Since most players are playing with randoms, and without a microphone, the ping system is important for the players' overall experience in the game. One of the main reasons people quit a BR is over frustration with playing with randoms.
