Punches are broken.

Some players get 90% of their punches registering.
Others 66%
Others only 5%

That amounts to easily a 10 to 20 kill disparity per match, which is huge.

Dying this way is not skill based, therefore unfair and thus thoroughly annoying.

I plead to the developers to fix this.
Or bring back the fairness with punch trading.
