Feedback: Exceptional Movement, Weapons, Maps, and Cosmetics in Splitgate: Arena Reloaded
Open
This is more of a feedback message than a suggestion. To preface this, I'll say that I'm fairly new to the Splitgate series. I've played some of the first Splitgate and absolutely loved it. As soon as I found out there was a new entry in the series, I immediately downloaded it and I absolutely LOVE it.
1. The movement feels absolutely phenomenal. It has all of the great aspects of movement in new FPS games without feeling too fast (or slow) and still feeling true to OG Splitgate. The pacing is perfect.
2. The new weapons feel great. There's enough variation that the choice of weapon can provide some benefit while still leaving gameplay feeling fair and balanced.
3. The map design is top notch and the flow feels incredible. There are so many opportunities to outplay your opponent (and to be outplayed by your opponent) and the spawn points seem to be very much improved from the first Splitgate.
4. Graphically, the game is beautiful. The textures, lighting, and performance are all a massive improvement from the first game.
5. The cosmetic items are fantastic. The work that went into designing characters, weapons, and weapon cosmetics is very evident. They look great.
6. The microtransactions feel very fair and optional; I don't feel like they're being shoved in my face like many F2P games and they all seem to be fairly priced (and look great, may I add). The ability to purchase rotating cosmetic items with currency acquired in-game was a great choice and I look forward to keeping an eye on the shop.
7. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for adding a dedicated bot mode with XP progression. My wife and I are pretty casual fps players. We absolutely love the genre but it gets exhausting trying to keep up with the insane skill gap present in modern fps games. This decision for Splitgate: AR is one that I cannot even express how thankful I am for.
8. I greatly appreciate the decision to add keyboard and mouse support for consoles as this is my primary choice of input method. The only thing I'd like to see added is a cursor to navigate menus. With that said, it's still fairly easy to navigate the menu with my controller.
In summary, thank you for making a great modern FPS game. This game is an absolute gem and I am beyond excited to see what the future brings.
