Splitgate – Quality of Life Changes I’d Love to See 1. Differentiate Teammate vs. Enemy Jetpack Audio Proposed Change: Adjust the sound design or volume of teammate jetpacks so they are clearly distinguishable from enemy jetpacks. Reasoning: In fast-paced fights, teammate jetpack audio is currently indistinguishable from enemy movement. I’ve frequently turned mid-fight thinking I was being flanked, only to realize it was a teammate. That moment of hesitation—confirming it’s not an enemy and reorienting—has directly cost me gunfights. Since this audio cue doesn’t provide meaningful gameplay value in its current form, clearer differentiation would reduce false reactions without removing important spatial awareness. 2. Limit Proximity Voice Chat to Pre-Game Lobby; Default to Push-to-Talk In-Game Proposed Change: Enable proximity voice chat only in the pre-match lobby. Once in-game, switch voice communication to push-to-talk by default. Reasoning: Open-mic proximity chat during matches often leads to constant background noise or unrelated conversations, which becomes distracting during active gameplay. This audio clutter makes it harder to focus and hear important in-game sounds. Defaulting to push-to-talk in matches would preserve communication while significantly improving audio clarity and reducing overstimulation, especially in high-pressure moments. 3. Clearer Feedback When Health Is Critically Low Proposed Change: Improve the visual and/or audio indicators when a player is near death—such as stronger screen effects, deeper color saturation, or a progressive “breaking” sound cue. Reasoning: The current low-health warning feels too subtle and can give the impression that a fight is still survivable when you’re actually only one or two bullets from death. Clearer feedback would help players make better split-second decisions, reducing frustration and improving overall combat readability without changing core balance.
