Implement Reference Images for Accurate Vehicle Replicas in Brick Rigs Editor
Reference Images
The Core Idea:
Allow players to import standard image files (.PNG, .JPG) directly into the Brick Rigs editor to use as background or foreground reference grids, identical to Blender's reference image system.
Why?
Building replicas of real-world vehicles (tanks, planes, cars) currently requires constant alt-tabbing or guessing proportions. Reference images can help speed up the proccess and make the build more accurate.
How will it work?
Import Button: A new icon in the editor toolbar labeled "Add Reference Image".
Axis Snapping: Buttons to instantly snap the image to the Front, Side, or Top ortho views. This can help trace over the reference image easier just like in blender.
Opacity Slider: Fade the image (0% to 100%) so it does not block the brick grid.
Display Mode: Choose whether the image sits Behind the bricks or overlays In Front of them.
Lock Image: A toggle to prevent accidental clicking or moving of the reference photo while building.
Loading a static 2D texture into the editor space consumes negligible CPU/GPU resources. Reference images do not need to load into multiplayer matches or physics simulations, preventing performance drops during actual gameplay.
