Weaponry organization rework - Part one of two
Open
THIS IS PART ONE OF A TWO PART SUGGESTION (because I wrote a little too much). Please see Suggestion 502 for the second part.
Alright. Everyone who I’ve consulted on this in various lobbies have loved the idea, and I hope you’ll feel the same. Without further ado, here are the problems this addresses:
- Shotgun Category is rather lacking
- Players are somewhat limited on options regarding cover
The solution:
At its core, this proposal does some minor restructuring and adds 4 items: 2 guns and 2 gadgets (1 for enforcers, 1 for revolters).
To address my first point, the shotgun category is, quite clearly, two weapons short of the others. It’s not even due to any lack of implementation of other models; the way the game is designed, the only two possible molds for shotguns (fast Rate Of Fire and low Damage, and the inverse) have been filled by the Canutt and Urakan. That’s why I believe it would be a good idea to convert the shotgun section into a “heavy weaponry” one — this allows for the category to be broader whilst still having shotguns fit well. For one, simply move the Cadillo into the heavy weapon section and give it a slight damage buff (+2-4%) and price increase (say, 2500), and there’s a heavier-hitting DMR (it still was before, but these changes would really lean into that; also, please don’t turn it into a sniper rifle like so many others want - this is a CQC game, not a Call Of Duty lobby where everyone uses snipers as shotguns). But, this leaves us now with three weapons in the proposed Heavy section and the AR section, so let’s discuss 2 weapon additions, the main part of this suggestion.
Introducing the Vindi: this new 3 round burst AR has slightly a better rate-of-fire and range than the Auril, but more recoil (the 3 round burst makes it about as manageable, though). The damage is similar to the Auril’s as well, though perhaps slightly more, and the 24 round magazine has a reload time similar to the Marui. It comes standard at 2000 dollars, though it can also be modified with a silencer, red dot, extended magazine (which increases the magazine size to 30 rounds), and the laser. Lastly, aesthetics: the design borrows from the Famas’ bullpup design and receiver, but has a handguard, barrel, and frontal sight like that of the M16A4. (I have seen another suggestion mentioning a “Contention” Burst Rifle, so consider this along the same lines).
Next, the Randor: This LMG-like weapon, belonging to the proposed Heavy section, has a giant 60 round magazine, a damage and rate-of-fire like a Vezin (with the damage being better and the rate of fire being a bit lower), and a range similar to that of the Auril. However, this weapon would have to have some caveats to balance out the otherwise overpowered stats: for instance, a lengthy 10 second reload, massive price tag of 3800, limited ammunition reserves (1 magazine’s worth of total reserve ammunition), and recoil a bit worse than the Vezin’s. It would also have a rather limited attachment selection, options being a laser, silencer, and red dot. Aesthetically, it would have an M249 stock and barrel, XM250 main body, and other minor details like the magazine, grip, and stock similar to a STONER.
