random paragraphs on why you should not be able to repair in the cockpit of helicopters (little birds at least): Teamwork. Forefront is massively focused on teamwork, and is most often compared to battlefield, another videogame that puts a lot of emphasis on teamwork. Vehicles, in particular, should require teamwork to be used to their full potential, rewarding players for using teamwork. Little birds and teamwork This is especially true with the little bird; a single pilot should be much less effective than a whole squad working together. On their own, a single person in a little bird should be semi-easily countered by a single person on the ground, especially if they are an engineer (The class dedicated to countering and supporting vehicles) However, when there is a whole squad working together in the little bird, it should require a squad working together on the ground to counter them. Teamwork being required to counter teamwork. Pilot being able to repair. In order to incentivise teamwork, and prevent a single pilot to be able to counter an entire squad, the little bird should not be able to be repaired by the pilot. This way, a single engineer with a talon can counter a heli piloted by a single pilot. The pilot can flare or outrun the talon, but they will then be forced to retreat. The pilot will only be able to repair by landing, or dangerously swapping seats mid-air, reducing the effectiveness of a single pilot. Talons, teamwork and co-pilots In order for the heli to be repaired in combat or in the air, the pilot will need to rely on the teamwork between themselves and their co-pilots. This allows them to counter a single hostile engineer by out-healing the dps of one talon. Teamwork > single person. In order for the ground team to counter a heli armed with a full squad, the ground team must work together (teamwork) to coordinate multiple talons. Teamwork required to counter teamwork.
