Adjusting Vehicle and Class Balance for Smaller Squads and Enhancing Tactical Gameplay
Open
Hi guys I've only played for 20 or so hours over 3 days! but here's some balance suggestions that will keep me coming back to play for many more hours as it is getting a bit stale already. It's a great game though and you have done a great job already, I really love the balance of the armoured vehicles VS infantry, you have truly nailed that!
1). In games where fewer than 10 people have joined per side can we disable attack vehicle spawning? In Australia it takes a while for the servers to fill up and its constantly 1v4 etc where the entire other team are in both little birds, the Apache and tanks or AA. Aside from how intensely OP the choppers are right now it makes it impossible to get the server to fill up because players who lack sportsmanship are just raping anyone who spawns and then they understandably quit. It's even worse on rush maps.
2a). Absolutely please disable vehicles being able to be repaired from inside and also make bullets and rockets be limited that can only be refilled by going back to hq and using a reloading asset.
2b). Also Reload Points could be placed on a hard to hold flags on the map to encourage people to try and attack/defend for a small team advantage. Have the reload stations in the open so it is dangerous to use so the vehicles have to weigh up whether it is worth a full retreat or to risk it for the biscuit to re-arm. A team that pushes past this point and captures flags beyond would then have a great advantage making flag captures highly valuable for both teams and necessary to turn the tide of battle. The flag captures currently, while depleting tickets, doesn't seem to make people actually go and attack/defend, most are just sitting around trying to get kills.
3). As per saxomorphist's post can medics and snipers also have something to help with taking down vehicles. A m320 (smoke version first!) and an explosive bow for the sniper for more immersion vs a crossbow. Also make both of them be terrible against infantry to discourage them becoming meta weapons for those classes.
4). Don't necessarily nerf the Choppers but please don't make it so easy for them to carve up an entire team. Disable team spotting for the pilots. Let squad spotting stay to encourage team work (maybe make sniper spots for the entire team but not a free for all like it is currently).
5). Lmg's should make a non armoured vehicle or pilots feel worried (maybe 1/4 damage) and a 50 cal on a turret or car should be able to get a vehicle down to half health before overheating. Right now the AA doesn't even bring down an Apache hovering or car sitting in front of it before overheating. Yet the rockets on the Apache can kill the AA in one pass. So the AA needs to do one h*** of a lot more damage - My hit registration is atrocious though and really inconsistent, so maybe that's a me problem but it's happened multiple times. This would encourage skilled pilots to use ambush tactics where they come in, pop up from behind cover take down the target and retreat in cover, not just flying around in circles repairing themselves while mowing down everything that moves like shooting fish in a barrel, it's really killing the immersion and fun.
6). Is there any chance of showing players' pings on the scoreboard? As mentioned in Australia we seem to be getting A LOT of overseas players in our severs and the hitreg seems to be seriously favouring them, If I get killed by them when I think that I should have easily won the fight and then check their ping I'll know whether to respawn to attempt a counter attack or just leave it, because I literally put 90 rounds into an American gentleman sitting in a corner 30m away and didn't kill him. I threw my gun at him and went over to give him a spray about being f_ing invincible but he turned out to be a really nice older guy in hiding who didn't know how to reload yet hahaha. But there's no point in trying to do the same thing over and over expecting different results.
