Add Option to Exclude Offhand Influence for Two-Handed Aiming
Open
Hey Forefront devs, I'd suggest combing through Onward's Discord suggestions and bugs channels for some tips but DPI just archived them today when they announce their game will no longer receive content updates or patches.
One of the big complaints was aiming / controller tracking jitter or floatiness which is very noticeable when aiming at distant targets. It's caused by a hardware limitation of the Quest (all models) and some other headsets.
Controller tracking always has a tiny bit of fluctuation. When calculating the relative position of two controllers the problem is much worse so very fine two handed weapon aiming is s******.
This isn't something Triangle Factory would have had to deal with previously as Breachers has relatively small maps and Hyper Dash is all dual wielding, no two handed guns. Assuming Forefront will have some long range engagements it could be a big problem.
To address the problem please please --> have options (toggle or slider) to exclude or minimize offhand influence on aiming. <--
Although it may seem counter intuitive the Quest and other headsets have much more accurate aiming of two handed weapons when it's based on only the firing hand's controller.
The offhand should be required to stay within close proximity to the forward grip position on the gun when two handing or players would be able to exploit the mechanic for one handed quick reloads with two handed recoil benefits. Not going into a lot of detail about that but it's a thing...
If you want more details or even copies of the one vs two handed 8x & 12x scoped aiming comparison videos in Onward that I submitted to DPI please lmk.
If you already have this covered please ignore. 😅
Looking forward to Forefront now more than ever!
