Introduce more structural damage to vehicles and helicopters. Machine guns (especially 50 cal) should do more damage. For example, shooting tyres and windscreen of vehicles. Helicopters should have critical components (engine, tail rotor, windscreen) which you can damage with machine guns effecting performance. Have smoke and fire indicating damage when hit.
