Class Switching & Battlefield-Style Loadout System

One feature that would dramatically improve gameplay flow and teamwork is allowing players to change classes and weapons without needing to respawn.

Change Class at Captured Bases

After capturing a base, players should be able to access a supply station or armory.

From there they could:

  • Change class (Assault, Medic, Engineer, Support, etc.)
  • Change primary and secondary weapons.
  • Switch gadgets.
  • Change grenades.
  • Customize optics and attachments (if available).

This would eliminate unnecessary suicides or forced respawns just to adapt to the battlefield.

Example

Imagine your squad captures a base.

Suddenly, enemy tanks begin pushing.

Instead of intentionally dying just to respawn as an Engineer, players could simply run to the armory and switch to an anti-vehicle loadout, keeping the battle flowing naturally.

Likewise:

  • Need more Medics?
  • Switch instantly.

Need more Support players?

  • Change class at the base.

Need anti-air?

  • Switch to Engineer.

This rewards map control because captured bases become valuable logistics hubs rather than just spawn points.

Pick Up Weapons From Fallen Soldiers

Another feature that would add immersion is the ability to pick up weapons from dead players, similar to Battlefield.

Examples:

  • Pick up a sniper rifle after your squad’s sniper is eliminated.
  • Grab an RPG from a fallen Engineer during an armored push.
  • Pick up extra ammunition from a dead Support.
  • Use enemy weapons if you’re out of ammo.

This creates dynamic moments without forcing a respawn.

To keep it balanced:

  • You only pick up the weapon and its remaining ammunition.
  • You do not inherit the player’s class abilities or gadgets.
  • Gadgets remain exclusive to each class.

This prevents abuse while giving players more tactical options.

Vehicle Rearm & Loadout Stations

Captured bases could also include a logistics station for vehicles.

Players could:

  • Repair vehicles.
  • Refill ammunition.
  • Change ammunition types (HE / AP / Smoke).
  • Rearm machine guns.
  • Prepare for the next engagement.

This would make holding objectives much more meaningful.

Why This Would Improve Gameplay

These mechanics would:

  • Reduce unnecessary respawns.
  • Keep players engaged in the fight.
  • Reward squads for capturing and defending objectives.
  • Encourage tactical decisions instead of simply dying to change class.
  • Increase immersion.
  • Bring Forefront even closer to the strategic sandbox gameplay that made Battlefield so memorable, while taking advantage of VR.

The battlefield should adapt to the players, not force players to respawn just to change their role. Captured bases should feel like real military forward operating bases where squads can regroup, rearm, reclass, and return to combat immediately.
