Add close quarters combat (CQC) with some form of knife, this would also allow you to have a pistol in one hand and knife in the other like everybody used to run in the old call of duty games. And maybe you could add a way to disarm enemies, if that means shooting the gun out of their hand or ripping it out with brute strength up close is up to you!
