Display Total Kills with Weapon Regardless of Skin in Kill Counter

Can we please display an overall kill with that weapon on the kill counter and not only kills with that skin? it forced me to play with a skin but i want to play with the gold sniper or the silver for now.. i just got it but dont want my counter to stay still
