Enhance Combat Mechanics with Tap Strafing, Adjusted Jetpack Boost, and Advanced Grappling

A few ideas to raise the movement skill ceiling and make fights feel more intentional/strategic. As of right now, the movement feels almost excessive and fights feel like you are randomly soaring through the map.

  1. Tap strafing/directional air movement
I think that adding a mechanic similar to tap strafing in Apex Legends would be a great way to give players more movement expression and something that takes time to progress and master, effectively raising the skill ceiling as well as creating more opportunities for mechanical outplays during fights.

  2. Toning down the jetpack boost
Slightly reducing the strength/airtime of the jetpacks would GREATLY improve fights. Currently, combat can turn into players constantly flying around each other and the map rather than using movement to enhance their gunplay. I would even go as far as to say that leaning more towards a double jump style boost instead of constant flying would be the best choice for the gameplay. I'd rather see the boost function as a tool for things like repositioning, dodging, changing momentum, extending movement combos, and making creative outplays. You would still maintain the fast movement that makes EMPULSE so unique and exciting, but fights would involve more intentional movement and gunplay instead of spending so much time airborne.

  3. Higher skill grappling
I would love to see the grapple mechanic taken a step further by incorporating something similar to the Pathfinder Legend mechanic in Apex where his grapple disconnects after your camera/body goes beyond a 180 degree angle from where the grapple connects. I believe that this would encourage another level of mastery in players with grapple pathing, camera movement, timing, and momentum management. It currently feels like the grapple does most of the work for you.

Overall, I'd love to see EMPULSE lean toward movement that is easy to understand but difficult to master. Less uncontrolled movement/random flying, but more mechanics that reward practice, timing, momentum, and mechanical skill.
