Enhance City and Holding Value in Conquest Mechanics
Darkfall at its core is a Conquest game. Sieges have lost their place because holdings have lost their value. The only thing that is truly worth fighting over in the game right now is Landtower for the q5 feather.
-Remove 75% of glyph locations to increase holding portal values.
-Remove holding maintenance. If 1 clan is conquering everything, it's the job of the servers politics to police it.
-Revert city rare mines/groves back into cities that can be hit anytime. The timerfall events outside cities make owning the city mostly irrelevant, as it's basically a public event that has no exclusivity to owning the holding. Giving no value to actually owning or not.
**Remove Plat for maintenance and use it for another system. Where each city has a buff attached to it (land tower proving this to be most sought after value) but you must pay platinum to keep the buff activated. Buffs range from Q1-Q3. All Cities should have a buff attached to them. For example: Andruk Q2 orkslayer. SweetWater Q3 water breathing. Calf Q3 Mana Bonus. Darkmoore Q2 wolfslayer. Ymennek Q3 Fire protection. Etc etc. Perhaps no Feather buffs attached to any cities to maintain Landtowers value. If Hamlets were to be involved, can set it up where: Hamlets give Q1s. Mainland cities give Q2s. Sub-continent cities give Q3s. Platinum costs would have to be enough so that it would be a difficult for a clan to afford having a grandiose amount of buffs on at all times, or where theyd only wanna pay for certain buffs at certain times (IE water breathing on sea tower day only). Have plat cost scale Q1 to Q3, Q3s being most expensive obviously.
These efforts could make sieging very constant.
