Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch Dead by Daylight from Russia/CIS region.
  2. Try to log in, connect to lobby, or start matchmaking.
  3. Connection fails or becomes unstable.
  4. Common errors include “Cannot connect to server”, “No Network Connection”, “Dedicated server is not responding”, RTM connection errors, Initialization Error, lobby connection failure, and matchmaking failure.
  5. Other online games and platform services usually work normally on the same device.
  6. Standard troubleshooting does not solve the issue for many players.
  7. Full community report with 78 responses, charts, screenshots/videos, and PC log is attached or linked in the report comments.

Explanation

Mass connection issues affecting Dead by Daylight players in Russia/CIS, mainly on PC Steam and PlayStation 5.

This is a community report based on 78 collected player responses since approximately 16:23 today, and new reports are still coming in. Reports were collected through a Russian-speaking Dead by Daylight community using a structured Google Form. The report includes translated responses, charts, screenshots/videos, and one PC log file submitted by an affected player.

The main affected platforms are PC Steam and PlayStation 5. The main affected region is Russia/CIS. Players report repeated connection-related issues such as inability to connect to lobby, “Cannot connect to server”, matchmaking not working, “No Network Connection”, Initialization Error, “Dedicated server is not responding”, RTM connection errors, and disconnects.

Many affected players report that other online games, platform services, and general internet access work normally on the same device, while Dead by Daylight specifically cannot connect or becomes unstable.

84.6% of respondents reported that the issue appeared or became worse after the latest or one of the recent Dead by Daylight updates. Reported start dates also show a strong cluster between April 25 and May 6, 2026: 57 out of 76 cleaned responses, or 75.0%.

Players have already tried many standard troubleshooting steps without success, including restarting the game, restarting the device, restarting the router, reinstalling Dead by Daylight, verifying game files, changing DNS, checking PSN/Steam/Epic status, using wired connection, clearing console cache, updating Windows/console system, VPN, GearUP, Zapret, and other traffic rerouting tools.

Some players report that the game only works through VPN, GearUP, Zapret, or other rerouting tools. This may indicate a routing, CDN, authentication, RTM, dedicated server, or regional connectivity issue rather than an individual home network problem.

The same pattern remains visible across the new responses: most affected players are from Russia/CIS, mainly on PC Steam and PlayStation 5. Players continue to report repeated connection-related issues such as:

  • “Cannot connect to server”
  • inability to connect to lobby
  • matchmaking not working
  • “No Network Connection”
  • Initialization Error
  • “Dedicated server is not responding”
  • RTM connection errors
  • disconnects

Many affected players still report that other online games, platform services, and general internet access work normally on the same device, while Dead by Daylight specifically cannot connect or becomes unstable.
