Steps to Reproduce
- Set up system as described in the explanation, and repeat with and without reflex boost
- Make a note of what aiming feels like when offline, and also when aiming at most people when solo queueing
- Either party with someone on cable internet, or try to 1v1 someone on cable internet
Explanation
System specs: Ryzen 9800x3d, 64G CL26 DD5 6000 memory, RTX 4090, 3G symmetrical fibre internet, 165 Hz monitor
Most problematic game settings: in game framerate limiter maxed at 500 fps, vsync enabled, and reflex on + boost (limits the game to 158 fps). Reproduced at medium, and at ultra settings.
Less problematic settings: uncapped framerate, though the issue still occurs to a lesser extent
Some lobbies feel unnecessarily difficult to aim in. Particularly certain people within those lobbies, and it appears to be related to the targets' internet connections.
For example, if I party with a specific Splitgate MVP and then play in a lot of lobbies with him, I'm more likely to feel it. Similarly if I am in an FFA and try to aim at him, the game almost hitches or pauses when I try to move my crosshair over him.
I can greatly improve the situation by disabling reflex, vsync, and running uncapped, but you can still kind of feel despite that.
