Explanation

I deleted a large number of buildings, followed by a few cranes on a Small Basic Core Facility that connected to deleted conveyor belts. I then realized I wanted to save one of the buildings, so I mashed Ctrl+Z a few times to get them back. Except it only went backwards two steps before trapping me in the "Crane Placement" UI. My cursor said "Crane Placement" with a crane icon, but there was no way to exit it. Clicking anywhere around the Core Facility didn't place a crane or even show the usual blue ghost, and I wasn't even able to bring up the pause menu with Esc.

I was, however, able to bring it up by pressing the hamburger button in the top right, so I quit to menu and tried to load my backup save from immediately before I attempted any of this. The game loaded for a bit and then sent me back to the menu with a NullPointerException error saying the save was unloadable. It then proceeded to do the same thing for all of my saves, including one from hours beforehand. I quit out of the game entirely and restarted it, which thankfully fixed the problem.

The error is reproducible by deleting at least two cranes in a row and then mashing Ctrl+Z.
