Explanation

Energy was deducted twice for a single task
I was at 41 energy, then completed the crop carnival sticker set giving me an additional 75 energy putting me at 116. I then immediately went to break the last stage of a tier 3 rock, skipped the task very shortly after with 5 gems, and then saw that my energy was down to 16 immediately. clicking on the energy counter did not show a cooldown, using 5 energy did not correct the energy counter (it was "properly" deducted to 11), and my energy total was 11 after a relog too. I just lost 50 energy for no reason (no biggie in the grand scheme of things, but quite annoying)
