Steps to Reproduce
- Playing in multiplayer on linux, specifically bazzite
Explanation
Freezing and crashing on linux, mostly in multiplayer
I'm getting very regular freezes that often lead to crashes. It mostly happens in multiplayer and it freezes pretty much every game and crashes in 1 out of 3 or 4. It occasionally happens in solo but it's rare and never leads to a crash. Map, mission type, and class don't appear to have any impact on it. I'm using the latest version of bazzite
Things I've Tried:
- Restarting computer many times
- Reinstalling DRG 3x
- Reinstalling Proton
- Tried Proton Hotfix, 10, and 8. Switching to 8 seemed to help a little bit, a smaller percentage of the freezes result in a crash
- Clearing shader cache
- Disabling all mods (include a clean install that has never had mods)
- Disable NVIDIA settings in the in-game menu
- Deleting the prefix with
rm -rf ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/548430 - Adding
-noslateand-nosteamcontrollerto the launch options - Both wifi and ethernet on my computer
- Both DX11 & DX12
- Updating Bazzite
- Resetting ostree
The logs for two crashed games are below. There seems to be an issue with the Stream P2P socket.
