Blackscreen on rejoining after disconnection in co-op

Steps to Reproduce

1. drop into a mission together (2 people)
2. non-host loses connection
3. non-host tries to rejoin
4. when that failed previous host tried to join me (previous non-host)
5. same issue

Explanation

Got a blackscreen trying to join a player (friend, steam) after disconnecting at the start.
Same thing the other way around when the host aborted the mission and tried joining me instead.

Whenever the blackscreen occurred, it was not a game freeze. I could still, i.e. if I tried joining from the ramrod, press escape and get the corresponding overlay. If I tried joining over the start screen, I could hear the mouse going over the various buttons (but not interact, i.e. with "continue").

Both of us had to restart our games to fix the issue.
Unfortunately forgot to record footage at the time.
