Explanation
We found Doretta's head in a really weird spot far beneath the Ommoran Heartstone in Glacial Strata. We broke through the heartstone and quickly realized we couldn't find Doretta to bring her back to the drop pod. After 10 minutes of searching, we found her in a weird looking cavern underneath the hearthstone. I wish I took screenshot of this place, because I haven't been able to reproduce it with the limited testing capabilities I have.
The ceiling was the underside of the big red crystal layer that the heartstone sits on, and the floor was all snow, but carved out into a perfect spherical curve that seems to be centered on the heartstone.
I've tried to reproduce this, but haven't been able to get it to happen a second time. But all my attempts had solid ice underneath, rather than the white snow I saw the first time. So maybe it needs to be snow to cause this issue.
I don't know how the code works, but I'll give my guess and hopefully it helps explain what I observed. My guess is there's something that deletes all the snow in the area to place the heartstone. But maybe this map generated with a very deep snow layer. So it carved out a perfect sphere and placed the red crystal on top, but leaving a gap that formed the weird looking cavern we found. And then Doretta's head maybe gets placed using a lowest floor method, and got placed in there instead of above the red crystal layer.
Sorry I don't have more helpful info, that's all I really have the time and energy for. Thanks for the great game!
