Desynch causes players to glitch through ground in Multiplayer Industrial Sabotage missions

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Join a multiplayer Industrial Sabotage mission with a seed that generates this ghost terrain. An example is the seed in the attached image.
  2. Go to the caretaker room. Terrain visibly intersects the Caretaker's platform and Forcefield.
  3. Walk onto the terrain near where it touches the Caretaker. The player glitches through the terrain.
  4. If you fall onto the Caretaker, try walking off into the void and see what happens.

Explanation

Multiplayer Industrial Sabotage missions can have ghost terrain touching the Caretaker which appears to the clients, but not the host. As a client, if you walk onto the ghost terrain, you glitch through the ground and may fall onto the Caretaker, or out of the world entirely. This can make it annoying and dangerous to navigate around the Caretaker's room. It can also allow you to see and shoot at areas of the map that should be blocked by terrain, since you are now outside the world.

In general, a level should have the same terrain as host and client, so how are you getting different terrain? could you supply some more information

This caretaker ghost terrain has happened to me in the past. When I encountered it a few patches ago, I was in a voice call with the host and they said they didn't see any terrain intersecting the caretaker, and they could not glitch through the ground. It was carved out around the caretaker. I'm not sure what you mean by asking "how". No particular action needs to be taken other than just joining the mission. Were you unable to reproduce the issue using that seed? Maybe it is session dependent then.

Alright thank you for the additional info.

The reason i ask is because we should never have desynched terrain. If that happens, there are no bugs that happens afterwards that we can fix, since the mission has already been severely broken.
