Steps to Reproduce

  1. Have a modded game that works pre-modding update
  2. Update the game
  3. (Note: Likely not reproducible - can provide enabled mods list if needed)

Explanation

Since the recent "modding update" I (ironically) am unable to play the game modded.

Launching the game to the info screen and clicking the mods button displays an infinite loading screen for accepting terms and conditions, even though I already accepted them a long time ago.

Launching into the game without changing any existing mods I had installed (because I can't change them due to the T&C popup) crashes the game, probably because the update broke them.

Using the -disablemodding flag works to disable mods, but this doesn't help the issue of being able to manage the mods i already have installed, I can't accept terms & conditions with this flag turned on.

Since after searching online for this issue I found people in 2022 saying it's related to running Windows 7, I should mention that I'm on Windows 11.

I don't want to delete mod.io folders because there are mods I have installed that were removed by their author from mod.io, but remain useful.

If there's a file I can edit somewhere to accept the terms outside of the game this would be a nice workaround.

Anecdotes: After the update launched, and I was hearing about the issues people were having with it. I disabled automatic updates in steam and backed up the DRG folder to test its functionality, since the update notes made it seem like something on mod.io's side changed that broke existing mod support.

After updating and replacing the files with the old version, the game worked without any modding issues, but was obviously unable to join any lobbies due to running an older version. I have since updated and verified file integrity, and the issues mentioned above were all from after applying the update.

With how many issues have been caused with this update, it would be great if the changes to the frontend could be reverted, but keep any API changes made in the backend to keep modding functional.

I imagine a possible reason for the frontend changes is that a lot of people (myself included) were clicking the "Send & Restart" button on the crash report dialog when a mod-related crash occurs (since there's no "Restart without sending" button), leading to a lot of crash reports being sent that are unrelated to the vanilla game. But this update seems to have caused more issues for players than it intends to solve, and in my case, makes playing the game modded impossible.

Ok I was able to disable mods so it doesn't crash by installing a sandbox mod and clicking 'cancel' but I still get the infinite loading on the un-dismissible Terms of Use popup
