Steps to Reproduce
- Equip a weapon that requires holding LMB to fire (Cryo Cannon, Minigun, etc.).
- Switch to another weapon (e.g., secondary or pickaxe).
- Quickly switch back to the hold-to-fire weapon.
- Press and hold the left mouse button *slightly before* the switch animation finishes.
- Observe that the weapon does not fire, despite the button being held.
Explanation
Weapons that require held fire input (Cryo Cannon, Minigun, etc.) fail to fire if fire button is pressed before weapon is ready
Weapons that require the left mouse button to be held down in order to fire (e.g., Cryo Cannon, Minigun) do not begin firing if the button is pressed too early during the weapon switch animation.
Currently, the game only registers the "start shooting" action on the initial click. If the player holds the button down before the weapon is ready, the gun does not fire, even after the switch animation is finished.
This creates a delay and forces players to release and click again, which can be frustrating and disruptive in high-intensity combat situations.
If the player is holding down the left mouse button while the weapon is equipping, the weapon should automatically begin firing as soon as it becomes ready (after the equip animation).
The weapon fails to fire if LMB is pressed and held down before the weapon is fully equipped.
The weapon should recognize that the button is being held and start firing immediately when it becomes ready.
- Causes missed shots/delays in combat.
- Particularly disruptive with the Cryo Cannon where timing and crowd control are critical.
