Steps to Reproduce

  1. Equip tier 4 Plasma Splash for DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine.
  2. Join a mission.
  3. Shoot into the ground around the enemies whitin 1m range of the plasma splash.
  4. See how the splash damage doesn't damage the enemies as expected.

Explanation

[Tier 4: Plasma Splash; DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine] The upgrade does not work when you are not the host of the game. When running Plasma Splash in a mission as the host, the upgrade functions correctly and deals the expected area damage. The problem appears when a player with this upgrade equipped joins as a client. In that case, the area damage is not applied, and the weapon behaves as if the upgrade were missing entirely, dealing only direct damage. An important detail is that the direct damage is applied without the expected downside of the splash effect. Normally, the splash effect reduces direct damage by 5 and adds +5 area damage, but as a client you keep full direct damage with no area effect. For clarity: in the video, the overclock equipped is Conductive Thermals, which marks enemies damaged by area effects. Since the enemies in the video do not receive the mark, the area damage is not being applied. The problem persists even without the Conductive Thermals.
