Steps to Reproduce
- Get a mouse with 'open design' like Steelseries Aerox 3 (2022).
- Get a fluffy friend of choice and have it lay in front of your screen / near your mouse for at least a year.
- Make sure the mouse, with its 'open ventilation design' (making it look like a cheese-grader) accumulates a lot of pet hair and some grime.
- Wonder why DRG suddenly has such bad performance.
- Alternatively, try making the connector (for the cable) on the mouse faulty some way and then see the performance change every time the game / pc recognizes the mouse again / looses connection to it.
Explanation
Peripherals causing lag-spikes in game if physical connection to the device is unstable.
I was trying to figure out why my DRG has become so unplayable, only to find out that my mouse has reached it's end of life.
Replugging it fixed the lagspikes every once in a while.
(I suspect the USB-C connection on the mouse is faulty or external in-fur-fearence has caused some damage to it).
Either way it would be nice if faulty peripherals would not cause the game, which runs for me @ 120 fps average (capped), 280 highs and 80 lows, to have fps lows of 10-29 every 10 seconds or so.
[The importance of fixing such a specific bug may be low, but I saw someone mention wireless peripherals being problematic and a "known bug" multiple years ago]
