Actual Result:
Pallets spawning abnormally often and in close proximity.
Expected Result:
Spaced out pallet spawns, and lower prevalence in general.
Severity:
Major
Reproducibility:
Always
Platform:
Steam
Additional Notes & Comments:
Scottjund's video you can skip to 2:00 to see multiple examples of this in game.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Select Custom game
  2. Equip perks into loadout such as "Windows of Opportunity" or "Zanshin Tactics" to show resource auras (namely pallets)..
  3. Load into any map. Macmillan, Autohaven, and Crotus Prenn maps are easiest to see the issue.
  4. View the extremely high prevalence of pallets.
  5. Note the close proximity of the pallets to each other and to windows, creating extremely strong interconnected setups.

Explanation

Pallet Density has been unintentionally high in 1v4 ever since the last iteration of 2v8. A change to pallet density was never listed in the patch notes released since 2v8 meaning this is an unintentional bug. This was possibly an unintended carryover from increasing pallet density in the limited time game mode judging by the timing of the bug.

This is an important bug because it's central to the game's balance and makes killers with weak chase powers even weaker while also making looping and being efficient as survivor in chase far less important, rewarding less interactive gameplay on both sides. The consequence of this bug is that survivors far more often see the stronger chase/mobility killers in play, leading to burnout over time from repetitiveness. There is also far less of a challenge for survivors to do well in chase.

I'd recommend counting the number of pallets that spawn in 1v4 maps pre 2v8 and post 2v8 update to more clearly portray the issue.
