Steps to Reproduce

1. Restart the game and check if the issue resolves.
2. Verify the integrity of game files: Open Steam and go to your Library. Right-click on Dead by Daylight and select Properties. Navigate to the Installed Files tab and click Verify Integrity of Game Files.
3. Repair Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC): Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\EasyAntiCheat. Run EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe as an administrator. Ensure Dead by Daylight is selected and click Repair Service.
4. Delete EAC-related folders: Remove the EasyAntiCheat folder from: C:\Program Files (x86) C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight.
5. Clear Steam's download cache: Open Steam and go to Settings. Select Downloads and click Clear Download Cache.
6. Reset network settings: Open Command Prompt as an administrator. Run the command: netsh winsock reset. Follow with: ipconfig /flushdns. Restart your system.
7. Reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat: Navigate to the EasyAntiCheat folder in the game directory. Create a shortcut for EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe. Open the shortcut’s properties and add install prod-fn (without quotes) at the end of the Target field. Run the shortcut and confirm the installation.

Explanation

I'm trying to load into the game and it says that it's checking EAC, but then it says it can't be done. I'm not sure why and I even tried to reapply access to make changes but it still doesn't work. I've reinstalled and got the same issue and I'm not going to do a full factory reset on my laptop over dead by daylight, I just want to play the game.
