  1. Handheld Combat Radio
A physical radio that can be pulled out and held in either hand.
While holding the radio and pressing its talk button, the player can communicate with other players on the currently selected radio channel.
The radio has several selectable channels:
Squad Channel: Communicate with your squad.
Team Channel: Communicate with non-squad teammates.
Command Channel: Reserved for specific tactical communications.
Custom Channels: Players can switch to other available frequencies to coordinate with different groups.
When the radio isn't being held, radio communication is disabled. The player's voice instead follows the normal proximity-chat system.
This means players can physically put the radio away when they don't want to hear constant battlefield chatter.
    Radio Feedback
Radio transmissions wouldn't sound exactly like normal voice chat, but with subtle radio static and compression.
The effect would make it immediately obvious whether someone is talking normally or transmitting over the radio.

  2. Helmet-Wired Squad Radio
A simpler alternative for players who don't want to carry a physical radio.
Players have a wired communications headset built into their helmet.
By placing their free hand against either side of their helmet and holding the trigger, they activate their squad radio.
    While the trigger is held:
    Squadmates can hear you.
    When released:
    Your squadmates cannot hear you.
    Proximity communication still works normally.
This gives players a very physical way of controlling squad communications.
You could even have a tiny animation where the player's fingers touch the side of the helmet.
    Important distinction
    The wired radio is Squad-only.
The handheld radio is the system used for broader team communication.
    That creates an interesting choice:
Helmet radio = convenient squad communication
Handheld radio = broader battlefield communication

Tactical VHF/UHF Combat Net
Assault and Engineer players can potentially obtain a Tactical Combat Net Radio capable of requesting indirect fire.
Depending on the map, this can call either:
Artillery
Mortar batteries
The system isn't available immediately.
Unlocking Fire Support
A player must first complete a battlefield requirement.
Possible requirements:
Objective Charge
Capture a designated objective.
Combat Charge
Accumulate a randomly determined number of kills.
The requirement is intentionally hidden or randomized so players can't simply predict exactly when fire support becomes available.
Once earned, the radio becomes available for deployment.

When activated, the player raises the Tactical Combat Radio.
A large targeting circle appears on the battlefield.
The circle represents the maximum area where fire support can be requested.
The player physically aims/selects the desired location and confirms the strike.
After confirmation:
FIRE MISSION REQUESTED
A short communication sequence plays.
"Fire mission received. Stand by."
Then the bombardment begins.

The strike lasts only a short period.
Instead of one giant explosion, artillery or mortars deliver multiple impacts across the selected zone.
This makes the ability useful for:
Breaking defensive positions
Clearing objectives
Suppressing enemy armor
Preventing enemy reinforcements
Disrupting enemy pushes
Forcing enemies out of entrenched positions
But it shouldn't completely erase an objective instantly.

After the bombardment ends:
3 to 5 minute cooldown
During the cooldown, the radio cannot request another strike.
The exact cooldown could vary slightly between matches.

Fortification MG
Engineers gain the ability to deploy mounted machine guns.
An Engineer can carry the emplacement and physically place it onto suitable terrain.
The system automatically constructs the position around the weapon.
Each emplacement consists of:
Mounted machine gun
Sandbag/armor protection
Ammunition box
Defensive structure
Mounting mechanism
The protection gives the gunner cover from incoming fire but isn't indestrucable.
