Explanation
It seems to have just been a UI bug but mid match I went to the squad menu after dying and noticed all the names in my squad including mine were wmwmwmwmw and everyone was squad lead but also had the assign squad lead next to them. I then saw that every name in every squad was wmwmwmwmw and everyone squad was filled.
