  1. Aim around
  2. It may happen at random

Explanation

The sniper scope latched onto an "image", basically, what I was looking at at the time, and then when moving the scope it kept the object no matter what.

For example, if I aimed at a barn in my scope and turned to aim at a tank, it would keep the barn locked on like a screen shot
