Explanation
Description:
During gameplay on the RUSH map, I experienced a reproducible issue involving heavy helicopters:
๐ Problem Summary:
Scenario: Boarding a heavy helicopter at the HQ spawn point (image 1).
Symptom: After two players boarded the helicopter and repeated jumping gestures (images 3โ5), my helicopter suddenly became uncontrollable.
S2I Latency: Jumped from ~91ms to untracked levels (***) and jitter exceeded 8ms (image 7). โ The input lag graph spiked dramatically (see Network Guardian overlay).
Result: The helicopter crashed. No inputs were detected from the right controller, but it was visually stuck in a โfull forward tiltโ position.
๐ Possible Root Causes:
HQ is extremely congested on RUSH maps (image 1)
Unlike CONQUEST, there are no alternative spawn locations
The helicopter may have been overwhelmed by:
Multiple players jumping at once
Too many spawn events at HQ
Network load causing controller input desync
๐ Suggestions:
Allow alternative helicopter spawn zones, not only at HQ
Reduce HQ congestion by splitting spawn points
Throttle or queue helicopter boarding when server strain is detected
Improve input fallback in high jitter/S2I spike conditions
