Steps to Reproduce
- Find a server with at least 8 slots that your group has at least 400 ping for. (May need more or less players depending on minimum ping). Preferably from a range of locations.
- Join and jump into at least two helis while your group loads in.
- Server should destabilize within five minutes.
- For ground troops, stand still and don't move when engaging in firefights.
Explanation
Servers seem to destabilize when enough high ping players join.
Had a team with multiple people using the high ping exploit for invincible helis. After a few of them joined, the server started to experience severe instability with several dropped frames for multiple players (the game dropped to about 1 frame per 3 seconds for a bit). Only about 10% of hits on the helis did damage even when they clearly should have done damage.
I shot one of them while they stood still from near point blank with enough shots to kill over five players, if not well over ten players. Once I ran out of bullets, they turned in place and shot me and killed me. (These players take no damage while standing still, have tested this in similar situations).
It is noticeable when there is a group because usually if these players spawn as a group, some nearby players are frozen for a second or two and these groups seem to be used to taking advantage. Also noticeable when done on purpose because they stop moving, even out in the open, a few seconds before engaging.
