Merit cost for ascending broken at 18th ascension

Steps to Reproduce

1. Reach level 30 on red tier with two stars
2. Attempt to ascend

Explanation

The merit cost of ascending appears to be broken under certain conditions. I just got the third star in the red tier (18th ascension I think?). This should be the first ascension that would cost more than 10000 merits, but the ascension button displayed a cost of -1 merits, and no merits were taken or given after ascending. It's possible that something else caused this, but I would guess that this is an issue with exceeding a cost of 10000 given that I haven't had any issues like this in the past.
