Steps to Reproduce

  1. Equip your gun
  2. Tap right click to mine
  3. After which you will switch back to your gun
  4. Then it will do a double switch

Explanation

Gameplay bug - where tapping the "right click" to mine will bug out the current equipped item. It will cause guns or equipment or abilities to not activate if done in quick succession.
