Steps to Reproduce

1. I was fighting the boss for the first time and everything seemed normal until I believe I found a 3rd core piece next to the stand without the protective mass around it when it should have spawned 2 I think.
2. Then I found the last protected piece and threw it in, and then it immediately skipped the final phase.

Explanation

The 3rd depth boss dies after second core stone.
