Game Locks Up After Picking an Upgrade in Solo Mission

Steps to Reproduce

Boot up the first mission type available to a new player in solo mode.
Gather expenite.
Deposit enough expenite to get an upgrade.
Pick an upgrade.
Despair in utter hopelessness as your purple quality swag goes down the drain.

Explanation

The game locks up after picking an upgrade after depositing enough Expenite while playing a solo mission.
I cannot submit the bug report in an instance where it has happened, as the menu will not open at that point and I have to Alt+F4 out of the game.
I am not sure if playing solo mode is a requirement, but I played a match yesterday with my girlfriend and the bug did not occur then.
