Explanation
This is HIGHLY likely to be an overlapping issue with items and other things not working, there are also bug reports of the depths elevator behaving similarly, but not exactly like this. Such as <@643830424011014178> 's report of it being teleported OUTSIDE of the gate. This time, it's tilted, unsure whether or not it's the exact same thing or just a similar string of bugs.
