Explanation

I just started playing this game and have been experiencing this ever since I finished the five lv 1 puzzles. For instance in this game I just played my live went from 5->3 after typing in that 5 as a note (from screenshot 1 to 2), and typing in that 8 (not as a note) in screenshot 3 cost me the remaining 2 lives.
